Job Description
The senior quality assurance engineer is in charge of creating test scenarios and comprehending the functional requirements. Sufficient experience in creating and carrying out manual test cases to guarantee the quality of the final output. As a QA engineer, candidate will create and execute tests, troubleshoot, and take remedial action in their role as QA engineer. Contributes significantly to the company’s product development process. Using Jira or any other bug tracking application, identify point, record, and track bugs. Determine the system needs in close collaboration with internal teams, such as the developers and product managers. Strong familiarity with Agile and other software quality assurance technologies and methods.
Key responsibilities
- Have experience designing clear, concise, and thorough test plans and test cases;
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to give timely and insightful feedback
- Identify, record, document, and track problems using appropriate tools.
- Proficient in software quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes;
- Have worked in an Agile/Scrum development process;
- Have analyzed, reproduced, and performed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on production bugs
- Strong background in testing iOS and Android mobile apps;
- should represent the product or work as an independent contributor;
- minimal understanding of how to analyze or debug logs when problems arise in quality assurance environments

Key skills and experience required
- Minimum of 4-6 years of Manual testing experience
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools (JIRA, Zephyr), and processes
- Good domain expertise, preferably in Fintech
- Experience in API testing
- Proficiency with test management tools to track bugs and manage the test cases & their execution
- Must have been involved in various types of testing, such as Sanity, Smoke, Regression, UAT, Compatibility, Testcase Writing, etc.
- Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Should represent the product or work independently
- Has experience communicating with stakeholders
- Has experience generating the testing activities status report on a daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis.
Competent in the subsequent areas
- Unit testing as well as coding in 1-2 languages (e.g. Java, C#, etc.)
- Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis
- Application of design patterns
- Application of non-functional software qualities such as resilience, maintainability, etc.
- Applying behaviour-driven testing techniques
- Git, BitBucket or any version control
